Convention & Trade Show Committee helps plan the convention and trade show through input and insight from industry professionals. Meeting time is spent discussing details like location, speakers, programs and entertainment with the goal to assemble an event that association members will find of tremendous value.
Back to top Human Resource Development Committee develops solutions to meet education and training needs. The committee works to address industry issues through information and education to increase skills, efficiency and effectiveness of all who work within the industry.
Back to top Grain Quality & Transportation Committee examines issues of grain quality and transportation of grain and grain products by water, rail and road. This committee analyzes proposed changes to the U. S. Grain Standards Act or other actions that would have implications on the testing, grading and weighing of grain. The work of this committee is done to provide a safe and efficient highway, rail and water transportation system that is not overburdened with regulation and also promotes uniform grading standards for the purpose of an efficient marketing system.
Back to top Legislative & Regulatory Committee works with the Illinois Department of Agriculture, IEPA, OSHA and other agencies regarding rules and regulations. Committee time is spent considering legislation and regulations that affect the industry, which often requires taking a position or initiating new legislation that will positively affect our members.
Back to top Scholarship Committee directs and oversees actions of the Grain & Feed Association of Illinois Scholarship Program including selecting recipients and hosting multiple fundraising events throughout the year. The goal of this committee is to raise scholarship dollars and awareness of the scholarship program while also shaping the program to attract and retain college students to the grain and feed industry.
Back to top Safety & Facility Operations Committee works to ensure that OSHA and EPA regulations are properly carried out and are not cost prohibitive. Committee time is typically spent providing input on potential educational programs which focus on security, energy, maintenance, and property management. The goal of this committee is to promote efficient facility operations and improve safety and health in the industry.
